As part of my master’s thesis, I explored how the app Den digitale forløbsguide could be implemented to support parents of children born with cleft lip and palate.
Using qualitative methods—including user interviews and co-design workshops—I identified key opportunities and challenges related to patient empowerment during the treatment process. I created a patient journey map to uncover how parents’ needs and engagement evolve throughout the care pathway.
Based on these insights, I developed three design proposals (presented as wireframes) aimed at strengthening parental support and aligning the app more closely with users' real-life needs.
The project offered valuable insights into how digital solutions can meaningfully support patient empowerment and improve the overall healthcare experience.
I mapped the treatment journey to understand how parents’ needs and engagement evolve over time. This helped identify key moments where the app could better support and empower them.

In the end 3 design proposals where presented in the form of wireframes to strengthen parental support and tailor the app to their specific needs
